This marked the beginning of an important stage of the project - the physical start of the unit; its main task is to confirm the reliability and safety of its operation at the design parameters.
Totally, 163 heat-generating assemblies will be loaded into the reactor. Each consists of 312 heat-generating elements with 9 mm diameter and about 4 m. height. The weight of fuel in one heat-generating assembly is 571 kg.
After that, assembling and sealing the reactor with the necessary hydraulic tests will begin. Next, there will be no less important work on preparing the unit for power start, its inclusion in the country's power system, and pilot operation.
The commissioning of the second power unit into commercial operation will take place in 2022.
