It is symbolic that this event coincided with the professional holiday - Power Engineer's Day and will be a good gift for all workers in the industry.
"Today is a very important day - the stage of the physical start of the second power unit and loading of fresh nuclear fuel has begun, this was preceded by a large amount of preparatory work, a license was issued, respectively, we have become witnesses of this historic event," the Prime Minister said.
"We are moving according to plan, and by the summer of next year we plan to commission the second power unit," he added. Thus, BelNPP will reach its nominal capacity and will generate about 40% of the country's total electricity."
This is a serious step towards strengthening the energy security of Belarus.
