Belarusian NPP was represented at the workshop by NPP shift supervisor Alexander Kushnarenko and NPP power unit shift supervisor Dmitry Vorobyov
The international workshop was based on modern approaches to training: in addition to lectures, participants were shown educational films, involved in interactive tasks, business games and discussions covering all aspects of the work of shift supervisors as leaders of operational management in everyday work and in case of emergency situations.
"It's not for nothing that nuclear power plant shift supervisors are called 'night directors', because they are the ones who take over the management of the plant in the evening and at night, on weekends and holidays," said Sergey Loktionov, Head of the Industry Training and Development Program, WANO-MC. Our task is to strengthen the leadership qualities of key managers, to teach them how to effectively manage their working time and operational staff."
According to the workshop participants, the training course was useful not only for production activities. It gave the plant shift supervisors from different parts of Russia and the world an opportunity to communicate, discuss common tasks, and exchange ideas for further development.
"I'm taking back not only useful experience, but also new comradely ties to my native plant," said Dmitry Vorobyov, head of Belarusian NPP unit shift."
