The drills covered several key facilities at the plant, and specialists from Fire and Rescue Squad No. 2 of Ostrovets District Emergency Department actively participated in the rehearsal. This enabled the plant's personnel not only to test their readiness but also to practice coordinated interaction with external services.
Each drill began with a simulated fire—the automatic fire alarm was activated. At this point, all emergency response systems were immediately activated: the public address and evacuation control system, as well as the smoke protection system, were activated to ensure the safest possible exit.
Particular attention was paid to the actions of the plant's own fire brigade. Their fire response skills were practiced, and the availability and serviceability of primary fire extinguishers and fire shields were tested.
Regular drills are an integral part of NPP operations to ensure maximum safety and preparedness for any emergency, ensuring protection for both employees and the environment.
