Last Sunday, a group of volunteers planted young spruce, pine and birch trees in a forest area adjacent to the R-52 highway, which connects Ostrovets, where most of the NPP employees live, and their permanent place of work – the nuclear power plant production site.
Many of the protesters arrived at their workplaces with their entire families, including children.
According to forestry workers, the “nuclear employees” successfully completed their task.
Belarusian NPP employees have been taking part in forest planting campaigns since 2010, as soon as the “office” of the nuclear power plant received Ostrovets “registration”. And this means that in the forest area of Ostrovets district there are already several dozen hectares of forest planted by the hands of Belarusian NPP employees.
