In his speech at the opening of the stand, the Director General of Belarusian NPP Sergei Bobovich noted the primary role of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in the implementation of the project.
The head of the nuclear power plant thanked the IAEA for its comprehensive support and technical assistance, and noted the positive changes that have occurred both in the region where the NPP was built and in the country as a whole, thanks to the nuclear power plant.
"The advantages of nuclear energy are obvious. And they concern not only the economy, but also other areas of public life: science, education, medicine, the rapid development of new technologies and competencies," Sergei Bobovich emphasized in his speech.
Belarusian NPP has been participating in exhibitions on the sidelines of the IAEA General Conference since 2015. In accordance with the principles of openness and transparency, Belarus has fully informed representatives of the international nuclear energy community about all stages of the NPP construction. This year, the company's stand presented information on the first results of Belarusian NPP operation and its integration into the economy of the Republic of Belarus.
