In the demonstration building, Sakharov Institute students got acquainted with the features of the plant as a whole, its systems, operating principles, and rules for ensuring nuclear and radiation safety. At the training center, first-year students visited classes with local simulators and a full-scale control room simulator. Former students of ISEI named after A. Sakharov, BSU and current instructors of the training center spoke about the specifics of their work and personnel training.
A surprise for the freshmen was a visit to the radiation control laboratory. The head of the Automated radiation monitoring system laboratory of the radiation safety workshop, Alexander Shpakovski, took the students through the premises of the laboratory and showed how the laboratory functions and what equipment the employees of the Central District Hospital use in their work.
