The ceremony dedicated to this event was held on May 19 at the BelNPP with the participation of the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko and the Director General of the state corporation Rosatom Alexei Likhachev.
As Minister of Energy Viktor Karankevich informed, on May 13, 2023, the second power unit of the BelNPP at the reactor power level of 40% was included in the country's unified energy system. Since then, it has generated more than 45 million kWh of electricity.
The head of the Government visited the block control panel of the second unit of the nuclear power plant, where he was informed about the work done. In the presence of the Prime Minister, the power level of the reactor plant was increased from 40% to 50%.
In the near future, specialists will continue the phased development of the unit's reactor capacity up to 100%. Ahead is the stage of its pilot operation with a wide range of tests in different operating modes. Disconnection of the unit from the network is also provided. This format of research is a worldwide practice. Professionals need to make sure that all systems and equipment operate reliably, in accordance with design specifications.
