– Grodno Regional Center for Local History and Tourism initiated the festival of museums “Golden Placers of the Past”, says Elena Atamanyuk, EMO methodologist. - We thought about how to show this. And the project of Ostrovets Educational and Methodological Office and the information center of Belarusian NPP was born, the teachers and pupils of secondary school No. 1 joined it.
The museum room "Belaruskaya Hatka" has been operating in this institution for many years. It was decided to make changes to the excursion program. The Spadchyna Museum of Mali Nursery-Garden has also joined, providing exhibits related to energy and energy engineering.
The excursion begins at the school's museum - the guys talk about how energy was born, and then they invite you to go to the information center of Belarusian NPP, where they talk in an interesting and simple way about the important and complex: the construction and operation of Belarusian NPP.
– I would like to captivate children with this project. This is important and necessary. The guys tell about the life of Belarusians in a very interesting and exciting way, reveal the history of the use of energy in everyday life from ancient times to the present day, says Elena Atamanyuk. - And I think we will succeed.
Nadezhda Nikolaykova has not yet decided who she will be. Chooses between two professions: journalist and doctor.
– It would seem that these are two completely different areas, but both are interesting to me. Therefore, at first I decided to try myself as a leading project. And I liked it! - says Nadezhda. - I think it is interesting not only for us, but also for those who visit our excursions. We found out why the construction of Belarusian NPP began in our region, about the types of energy and, in general, where it comes from - now we are telling everyone about it!
Tenth-grader Daniil Vdovenko, who moved to Ostrovets land with his parents from Russian Volgodonsk, also took an interest in the project.
– I lived in a city of power engineers, my parents work at the nuclear power plant, so this topic is close and interesting to me, - says Daniil. - I dream of becoming an engineer, I adore physics, chemistry, mathematics. I am sure that this project is necessary and important. At least for general development and understanding what is being built here, how it is done and why all this is needed. It's great when such an important energy facility is being built in the region. This gives the city a certain status!
