The workshop at the Center for Nuclear and Radiation Safety was attended by representatives of Belarus, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Poland, Slovakia, the USA, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and the IAEA. Gosatomnadzor acted as its organizer from the Belarusian side.
The workshop will examine the IAEA manual on inspecting nuclear facilities, practical experience in developing and implementing licensing and surveillance programs for new reactors, the roles and responsibilities of permanent inspectors at a nuclear power plant site during the construction, commissioning, commissioning and operation of a new nuclear power plant, and the application of NPP operating experience in planning inspections developed by various countries and other issues.
“For Belarus, the event is of particular importance in view of the preparations for the commissioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The country regularly hosts IAEA regional seminars, becoming a platform for multilateral exchange of experience on nuclear and radiation safety,” the State Atomic Supervision Agency noted.
The event runs until August, 16.
