The parties discussed possible cooperation in the energy sector, including nuclear energy. Agreements have been reached on the organization of further cooperation. «We are ready to discuss the issues you are interested in regarding the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant and share our experience in the implementation of the national nuclear energy program», - energy Minister Viktor Karankevich emphasized.
On the eve of the visit to the Ministry of energy, June 24, the Hungarian delegation visited Ostrovets, where currently active construction of housing and social and cultural facilities, and the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The guests were shown the experience of creating infrastructure for builders and maintenance personnel of nuclear power plants in the city of power engineers. The participants of the Hungarian delegation received detailed information about the work of the information center of the station, visited a full-scale simulator in the training center, as well as a number of facilities on the construction site of the station. Held a dialogue of the Hungarian delegation with Belarusian colleagues, which was discussed extensively interested in Hungarian questions.
The Minister for planning, construction and commissioning of new nuclear reactors «Paks - 2» Janos Suli wished Belarusian colleagues successes and has left record in the book of honorary guests, expressing gratitude for the hospitality and professional informing. The head of the delegation noted: «We came to Belarus not to give an expert assessment, but to study the positive experience of such a serious project. The experience of the Belarusian side in creating conditions for living and successful work at such an important facility as the NPP is huge, and, given the comparability of the scale of construction, can be used in the organization of work at the «Paks-2» NPP».
Paks is a small ancient town on the banks of the Danube with a population of about 20 thousand inhabitants, five kilometers from which there is an operating nuclear power plant. Construction of the first of the four units of VVER-440 Paks NPP began in 1974.
