"An important part of our work is an integrated monitoring of the state of the environment in the construction zone of BelNPP. Now we are monitoring in several directions - meteorological, climatic, hydrological monitoring, monitoring of chemical pollution of the atmospheric air and surface waters. The center of all this work is radiation monitoring. We have already conducted a background study of the state of the environment before the launch of BelNPP, now we are accumulating of statistical information that will allow assessing the impact of the nuclear power plant on the state of the environment. An automated radiation monitoring system near BelNPP is operating. Information is coming in real time", Maria Germenchuk said.
The system is equipped with specialized sensors that fix any changes in the radiation environment in real time. "This will ensure the proper level of radiation safety of the environment and the population in the BelNPP zone", the First Deputy Head of Belgidromet underlined.
