The Ukrainian company Energomashspetsstal (based in Kramatorsk, part of Atomenergomash, the mechanical engineering division of the Russian state corporation Rosatom), has sent on its way a batch of intermediate parts for the Belarusian nuclear power plant, BelTA learned from Inna Vavulina, OAO Atomenergomash’s Press Secretary.
The Ukrainian company continues making intermediate parts for the package equipment of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. Another batch of intermediate parts for the first and second power-generating units of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has been sent on its way to OAO AEM Technologies, which makes equipment for the Belarusian nuclear power plant. Among other things the batch includes components of the collector and the reactor’s body. The total weight of the shipped products is 276 tonnes.
This week Belarusian First Deputy Energy Minister Leonid Shenets said that equipment for the Belarusian nuclear power plant, which is being built near the town of Ostrovets, including equipment from Ukraine, gets delivered on schedule. “There are no issues with equipment deliveries whatsoever. The tenders are also held on schedule,” assured the official.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant uses the design AES-2006 developed by the Saint Petersburg-based R&D company Atomenergoproject. The Belarusian nuclear power plant will have two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW (2x1,200MW).
The Russian merged company OAO NIAEP – ZAO ASE is the general designer and the general contractor of the project. In line with the general contract for building the nuclear power plant the first power-generating unit is scheduled for commissioning in 2018, with the second one to go online in 2020. PAO Energomashspetsstal is Ukraine’s largest manufacturer of special cast and forged products for custom-made and small-series products used in metallurgy, ship construction, energy industry, and general mechanical engineering industry. Energomashspetsstal’s products are known in over 50 countries across the globe.
