They were guided by the arguments that Kaliningrad and Belarusian nuclear power stations are being built nearby. After it became clear, that all the three countries can con build one nuclear power station, after there were no answers about this project on the nation questions, the smart decision was taken. I think it would be an unfinished project, too heavy for our economics. I believe that in general the population of Lithuania is not against the nuclear power in the country, as I remember all the troubles with the Ignalinsk nuclear power station, with its closing, remember people mood, how they tried to save the station. According to this, I think in whole people are not against the nuclear station. The result of the referendum competed a few reasons: influenced the cost of the project as well as the people uncertainty in the government.
