This indicator is equivalent to meeting the full needs of all consumers of the Republic of Belarus for electricity for more than one year. 

As a reminder, in June 2026, Power Unit No. 1 celebrated its 5th anniversary since the signing of the acceptance certificate for commercial operation, having fully confirmed its design safety characteristics during this period. 

The first power unit's production of 40 billion kWh made a significant contribution to strengthening the country's energy independence and economic stability, replacing over 10.5 billion cubic meters of imported natural gas and preventing the emission of over 14.5 million tons of greenhouse gases (CO₂) into the atmosphere, and improving the environmental situation in the region. 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION 

Belarusian NPP, with two VVER-1200 reactors and a total installed capacity of 2,400 MW, was built using Russia's advanced Generation III+ design, fully compliant with international safety standards. Currently, the NPP meets approximately 40% of the country's total electricity needs, forming a reliable foundation for energy security.
