Such repairs are carried out annually at nuclear power plants in accordance with established regulations to ensure the stable operating condition of equipment. During the planned activities at Unit 2, scheduled maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of equipment and process systems will be carried out, including monitoring the condition of the base metal and welded joints of equipment and pipelines.

An important part of the work will be replacing spent nuclear fuel with fresh one – approximately 25% of the fuel assemblies will be loaded into the reactor core with fresh nuclear fuel.

The scheduled preventive maintenance will be carried out by personnel from Belarusian NPP with the involvement of employees from Belarusian and Russian organizations.

The second power unit of Belarusian NPP was put into commercial operation on November 1, 2023. In total, it generated approximately 18.5 billion kWh of electricity.
