The main issues that received special attention during the support mission concerned the main stages of commissioning and their duration, interactions with contractors, and aspects affecting the increase in the commissioning period of power units. 

Ganzhurov Sergey: 

"The power units of Kudankulam NPP are being built according to Russian design with WWER-1000 reactors. At Indian NPP, the designer of the reactor installation is JSC “Gidropress”, so all the principles and approaches to safety, as well as the stages of commissioning, are similar to Belarusian NPP. Belarusian experience was useful and applicable for Kudankulam NPP.  

Specialists from India are interested in further exchange of experience and positive practices with foreign NPPs, therefore five support missions with the involvement of WANO-MC are planned for 2026.” 

As a memorable souvenir from Belarusian NPP, a photo album about the construction of Belarusian NPP and a Nuklik mascot were given to the representatives of Indian nuclear power plant. 

Moscow Center of WANO NPP positively assessed the participation of Sergey Ganzhurov as an expert in the support mission to Kudankulam NPP. The knowledge and experience of the deputy of the reactor shop of Belarusian NPP made a significant contribution to achieving the goals and objectives of the support mission.
