Written by Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Belarus

Since the inclusion in the unified power system of the first power unit (November 3, 2020), Belarusian nuclear power plant has produced 30 billion kWh of electricity, which replaced about 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

At present, the station operates in two units at full capacity. It ensures the satisfaction of the growing demand for electricity by the real sector of the economy and the population. In January-April 2024, the volume of electricity consumption in the whole country increased by 9.7% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 15.3 billion kWh.

The BelNPP also has a significant environmental effect. Its work prevented emissions of about 14 million tons of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.
