Belarusian specialists are making a direct contribution to the implementation of the Paks II NPP project in Hungary

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Hungary Vladimir Ulakhovich, at the invitation of Hungarian and Russian sides, participated in the ceremony to pour the first concrete for the foundation of the new power unit of NPP “Paks-2”. This was reported to sb.by by Belarusian diplomatic mission in Hungary.

Among the guests and participants of this significant event for Hungary and the entire European energy sector were the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of this country Peter Sijarto, the Director General of the State Atomic Energy Corporation “Rosatom” Alexey Likhachev, the Director General of the IAEA Rafael Mariano Grossi, and the Director General of OJSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” Andrey Petrov.

— This event is a clear demonstration of our countries' deep mutual interest in developing a strategic partnership and a confirmation of our shared commitment to clean and secure energy. Our cooperation extends beyond diplomatic support, the embassy noted.

Belarusian specialists, with unique experience in the construction and commissioning of Belarusian NPP in Ostrovets, are now directly contributing to Hungarian project “Paks-2”. Their knowledge, skills, and responsible approach are highly valued at the site.

Belarusian Embassy in Hungary emphasized that our country is not only a reliable partner but also a provider of modern nuclear energy expertise.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Hungary were established on February 12, 1992. Belarusian Embassy in Hungary was opened in January 2000, and Hungarian Embassy in Minsk in December 2007.
