Belarus is ready to share with Hungary experience in the NPP construction - Lukashenko

Written by BelTA

Belarus is ready to share its experience in the construction of a nuclear power plant. This was stated by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, summing up the negotiations with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, BelTA has learned.

Currently, a project similar to the Belarusian one is being implemented in Hungary together with the Russian side. We are talking about the construction of two new units of Paks NPP.

“You are building the same nuclear power plant as we built and are finishing construction in Ostrovets. The first unit will be commissioned literally in days. This (construction of new power units. - BELTA`s note) is very important for Hungary. We have tremendous experience in the joint construction of nuclear power plants with the Russians. I’ll say more: our builders built it themselves under the patronage and engineering control of Russia. Therefore, we have experience. Russians are very pleased with our builders and invite us to build such plants abroad, primarily in Egypt," Alexander Lukashenko said.

The president suggested that if Hungary would need advice and assistance in this matter, the Belarusian side is ready to provide it. “I think you have enough of your own, moreover, good builders. You can do it yourself. But on the nuances of building such a plant, I think, you will take advantage of our help and support,” he said.
