New high-voltage lines connecting Belarusian NPP with the power grid are switched on

Written by Department of information and public relations

Belarusian power engineers continue to work on preparing the switchgear of KRUE-330 kV of Belarusian NPP for full operation. The next stage was the commissioning of new equipment and the inclusion in transit of two high-voltage power lines connecting the nuclear power plant under construction with the power system: 330 kV high-voltage transmission line Belarusian NPP - Minsk Severnaya and 330 kV high-voltage transmission line Belarusian NPP – Smorgon. The work was carried out in the period from July 18 to July 20, 2019 at several facilities of the Belarusian energy system under the unified management of the duty dispatcher of RUE “ODU”.

At present, the equipment of KRUE-330 kV of Belarusian NPP is connected to the power system via three 330 kV high-voltage lines: “Belarusian NPP - Postavy No. 1”, “Belarusian NPP - Minsk Severnaya”, “Belarusian NPP - Smorgon”.

As a result of the inclusion of new equipment and 330 kV overhead lines, the required reliability of the power supply of Belarusian NPP site was ensured for further commissioning. Belarusian NPP-Minsk Severnaya 330 kV overhead lines and Belarusian NPP-Smorgon 330 kV overhead lines put into operation increased the reliability of the power supply to  Minsk and Grodno oblasts.
